you get a landscaper’s quote

Do you have a Structural Landscaping Licence?

A structural landscaping license is required for any external structural work valued at over $1,000.- Even a brick edge to the lawn.

The Great Outdoors Landscapes has a Structural Landscape License acquired following completion of formal qualifications.

Are you a member of the landscape N.S.W and ACT(LNA) ?

The LNA is a professional body for the landscape industry. All members abide by a code of ethics and membership requires a sound business history and excellence on workmanship.

The Great Outdoors Landscapes has been a member of the LNA for 5 years.

Are your staff qualified for the work they will be doing?

Qualified Supervisors, Tradesman and Apprentices learn and share the technical skills to complete work to Australian Standards.

At The Great Outdoors Landscapes, Lloyd Willis is fully qualified in Horticulture, landscape construction and fully licensed. The company employs only qualified supervisors, landscape tradesman and apprentices studying at TAFE plus experienced landscape assistants.

Do you have the Works Compensation Insurance for all your staff and Public Liability Insurance?

If your landscaper doesn’t have the proper insurance cover, you might end up being liable, yourself, in the event of an accident.

The Great Outdoors Landscape includes current copies of all insurances with the quote.

Wil you give me a written contract to sign?

NSW Fair Trading requires that any work over $1,00 is done under a written contract.

Do you have an OH&S (occupational health & safety) Policy?

OH&S Policies are established and implemented by Landscpers with commitment to the safety and wellbeing of their staff as well as all those who may be visit the site where work is going on. This usually includes you and your family.

The Great Outdoors Landscapes have a current OH&S policy in place which is actively implemented at every site. An OH&S review and induction is the first action at each project.

How long have you been in business?

A landscaper with an established history in the area and in your community has a reputation to maintain. He can show you similar work he has done nearby. And will be around the remedy any deficiencies that may emerge in future years.

Can you give me a list of referrals for similar projects that you have done?

You will not be comfortable with a landscaper doing a significant project at your home without relevant references.

Do you use subcontractors or employees?

Companies who use lots of sub-contractors and casual staff tend to be less accountable for the work completed. An employed and stable workforce ensures that skills, training and knowledge are continually built upon, and high standards can be maintained with well motivated team.

The Great Outdoors Landscapes have 6 permanent staff and use subcontractors only for specialized work such as concrete ,rendering, Plumbing & electrical.

Do you give me a definite start and finish date?

A Firm start and finish date is a sign of well- organized landscaper that is committed to completing your job schedule.
